WELCOME TO ELSA BELLA! HERE'S THE SHORT VERSION OF OUR STORY
Ours is a story of pioneering new things, becoming parents, and pivoting to the Elsa Bella site you see today.
First off, thank you for visiting Elsa Bella! We spend a lot of time curating, sourcing, vetting, and negotiating our collections and we hope that you love what you find here. We also concluded that we could pass on significant savings directly to Elsa Bella loyal customers by dealing directly with the manufacturers, artisans, and shops.
We are a baby and children's boutique located in Seattle, WA, and we curate our collection from artisans all over the world, who will ship your items to you directly for a fraction of what you would pay at your local baby boutique. We sincerely believe the savings make it worth the wait. Check back often because we are adding new items on a weekly (sometimes daily) basis and we hope you enjoy each visit. Thanks again for stopping by and happy shopping!
THE FULL STORY OF ELSA BELLA
Our journey started in 2014, and we're a husband and wife team that was expecting our first child that December. We combed through hundreds of products and thousands of fashion inspirations in early March 2014 and hosted our first "sample sale" in August 2014. We turned our obsession of looking for the best deals on trendy babies/toddlers clothing into a business passion. We conceived Elsa Bella with love, and the brand was officially born on July 21, 2014, at 11:11 pm to two delighted and proud mama and papa.
If you were a customer of Elsa Bella in the early days of 2014, then you probably recall us pioneering "comment to buy" on social media. Comment buying allows us to post products on our Timeline and give our fans/followers a refreshing way to buy by commenting "sold" and the technology of our platform partner will do the invoicing on the backend. It allowed us to create a virtual storefront on Facebook and Instagram and engage with our customers directly. A year or two after, Facebook introduced Facebook Shop which makes "comment to buy" less of a necessity.
We went through the painstaking process of sourcing fabrics and evaluating factories and manufacturers in Los Angeles, New York City, Hong Kong, and Tokyo. Each city is a fashion capital in its own right. We realized two things in the past few years:
- As parents, we want the very best for our families. Elsa Bella is here to prove the best doesn't have to break the piggy bank. Moms and dads that we have talked with want to experience new brands, dress their kids in trendy fashion, and they don't want to break the bank doing it.
- If we cut out the middle-person (importers, buyers, distributors, and mall stores) and ship directly from manufacturers-to-consumers, then the savings on those costs allows us to offer better prices for our customers. No dealers. No wholesalers. No high price tag.
As parents of two kids (a toddler and a 3-month-old), we get it. We desire for Elsa Bella to be something you cherish, something that lasts and will be part of your family's meaningful moments. It means the world to us to see our clothing as a part of your kiddo's memorable moments. Please continue to share with us your best photos on IG or FB, and we'll work on incorporating the best ones on our website.
To us, our business is not just about the clothing, it's about the nostalgia of your baby's first outfit, it's what they wore when they go swimming for the first time, and it's the photo at the front door as they embark on their first day of school. We still get teary eyed thinking about it. We strive for the style and quality to last through the years of hoarding (no judgment here because one of us is a notorious hoarder) and allow you to outfit the family in the micro-moments that matter proudly.
Let us strive to intentionally set aside time each day to collect these meaningful micro-moments in life so we can live it to fullest. At Elsa Bella, we are thankful that you trust us to outfit you and your kiddo in your best and worst moments.
P.S. Giving back is a core value that we teach our two kids so Elsa Bella is partnering alongside One Simple Wish, Newborns in Need, and Share Our Strength. A portion of all our proceeds go this these three amazing organizations. Each year, more than 400,000 children are impacted by the foster care system in the United States. One Simple Wish exists to grant individual and unique wishes made by foster children. These wishes are anything from a new t-shirt to cleats for baseball and range anywhere from $10-$500. Newborns in Need has over 55 local chapters across the United States, and they take care of needy babies by providing baskets full of blankets, diapers, and baby clothes to mothers in extreme poverty. For 25 years, Share Our Strength's (SOS) mission is to end hunger in the U.S. and abroad. 1 in 6 children in the United States face hunger, and SOS's "No Kid Hungry" campaign is nationally and internationally recognized.
